SINGAPORE
– 23 August 2004 – CargoTec
Pte Ltd, a joint venture company
of SAAA Cargo Services Pte Ltd announced
today that it has awarded a contract
to V3 Teletech, a homegrown specialist
IT service and solutions provider,
in collaboration with Yusen Global
Logistics to supply and deploy an
integrated transportation IT solution.
V3 Teletech develops innovative
N to N logistics workflow IT platform
and products which utilize the up-and-coming
Geographical Information System
(GIS) and Location Determination
Technology which encompasses Global
Positioning System (GPS); Cellular
ID; Radio Frequency Infrared Detection
(RFID); which aims to assist lead
logistics service providers and
enterprises to optimize their resources,
operations and to enhance visibility
plus security in conventional and
cold chain cargo distribution management.
The solution, known as the Transplanner
System will integrate to Yusen Global
Freight System to provide an end-to-end
IT collaboration between Yusen and
CargoTec. 'It is an integrated system
which includes planning, scheduling
and an extensive collaboration between
CargoTec and Yusen that improves
visibility, productivity, security
and value-add to the service supply
chain', Mr Stanley Lee, Director
of Traffic Operations CargoTec commented.
The system, integrating with Yusen's
Global Freight System and ebooking
system will enable a complete automated
processing of its freight operations
without human intervention. Yusen's
client can send orders via its ERP/SAP
system directly to Yusen's Global
Freight System via the e-booking
module, and the Transplanner System
will activate the transportation
module, the movement of the cargo
from shipper to consignee can be
monitored using the web-based Global
Freight System, and the final POD
information will be transmitted
to client's system at the completion
of the job.
The first phase will be launched
in Singapore in the next few months.
The success story in Singapore deployment
will allow Yusen, a SAAA member,
to standardize all operations and
push the system to the other Yusen
offices in the Asia-Pacific.
